About us: Bamboo Music Academy

Bamboo is a fascinating plant! It spends its first years consolidating deep, invisible roots before experiencing exponential growth. It is incredibly resilient, yet remarkably flexible. This serves as the core philosophy of Bamboo Music Academy, providing solid musical foundations with the flexibility to adapt to every student’s individual journey.

The academy arises from the need to overcome the rigid traditions often associated with classical music. The goal is to offer high-quality standards in violin and piano within a dynamic and accessible environment, moving away from elitist perceptions.

Learning is approached through Gamification, a methodology specially designed for the youngest students. Instruments are introduced as a natural part of daily life, where technical and theoretical aspects are explained through dynamic interaction and humor. For advanced levels, a structured 10-level curriculum ensures progress, combining the personal attention of a private mentorship with the formal structure of a consolidated music school preparing for the conservatoire exams.

Founder

Javier Navas Sánchez

My passion for music started before I was born. My mom always reminds me that she used to listen Vivaldi while she was pregnant, and maybe this was the origin of everything. I discovered the violin at the age of 7, and started my musical journey in my Spanish hometown, Onil in Alicante. Afterwards, I started scaling my education with masterclasses and musical trips along the world.

To continue my education, I moved to Warsaw, Poland to study in the prestigious Frederik Chopin University of Music. Afterwards, I did a Master Degree in Orchestral Performance with Prof. Aitzol Iturriagagoitia in Musikene, Spain. During this time, in my early twenties I had the opportunity to perform with professional orchestras like “Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa” or “Basque National Orchestra”. I also have been an enthusiastic traveler , giving concerts in countries like Germany, Switzerland, Dubai, India, Czech Republic, Italy, Spain…

However, I was missing the creative side of pedagogy. For that reason I decided to approach a Second Master Degree in Music Pedagogy to learn the latest teaching techniques from the best music pedagogues like Claudio Forcada, Mimi Zweig or Paul Harris among others.

Nowadays, I am developing my own teaching style combining various methodologies and continually learning from the world’s best music pedagogues and performers, as well as performing with multiple orchestras and ensembles around the world. And of course…
