I am Javier Navas Sánchez, a Spanish musician with international orchestral experience in cities such as Dubai, Vienna, Mumbai, Munich, Zurich, Paris, and beyond. Holding two master’s degrees in Violin Performance and Music Pedagogy, I combine artistic excellence with deep technical expertise. As the founder of the Bamboo Music Academy, my mission is to transform music education in Munich into a personalized and highly professional experience.
To achieve this, I have developed an innovative 10-step program that blends academic excellence with the principles of gamification. My method makes it possible to master the violin or piano through play and enjoyment, without ever sacrificing pedagogical depth. At Bamboo Music Academy, we break away from rigid, old fashioned teaching methods. What truly sets us apart is our Gamification approach, which makes learning violin or piano engaging and fun, especially for children.
The academy is led by Javier Navas, and it has the benefits of both, private lessons and a music school. In one hand, traditional music schools tend to have a huge rotation of teachers and that makes the learning process difficult and inconsistent. In the Bamboo Music Academy you will work long term with a top professor in the format of a private tutor but with recurrent student concerts.
Where in Munich is the music school located, and is there parking?
Bamboo Music Academy is centrally located at Kapuzinerstraße 14, 80337 München, in the heart of the Isarvorstadt district. While we are a local fixture for families in Glockenbachviertel and Sendling, our reputation for excellence attracts students from across the entire Munich region.
Getting Here:
- Public Transport: We are a short walk from Goetheplatz and Poccistraße (U3/U6), and the Kapuzinerstraße bus stop (Lines 58/68) is right at our doorstep.
- Parking: For those driving from further afield, such as Starnberg, convenient parking is available at the adjacent Lidl, making it easy to combine lessons with daily errands.

What is the best age for children or adults to start learning an instrument?
At Bamboo Music Academy, we believe there is no single 'perfect' age, but rather the right approach for every stage of life.
- For children: We typically recommend starting around age 5 or 6, as this is when coordination and focus begin to align. However, thanks to the Gamification method, sometimes it is possible to start with kids of 4 years old, if you as a parent think that the kid could remain focused and well behaved during 30 minutes, is ready to start!
- For adults: It is never too late. Whether you are a complete beginner or returning to an instrument after years, thelessons are tailored to your pace and personal goals.

Monthly Courses (Regular weekly lessons according to the Bavarian school calendar)
